    Hi @mitzilai

Could you please tell us the different OS that you have and you need to use? In general you're right: you need one license for all the Macs that you have, and you can get the basic version of 1Password for iOS for free. You will then be able to sync them with Dropbox or iCloud. However, it would be better to check the details to make sure nothing is too old and everything will work as expected your devices :chuffed:

    Hello @mitzilai,

    Thank you for reaching out!

Could you please specify why you haven't updated your Mac's OS? The thing is, that OS X 10.7 Lion is not supported by the latest version of 1Password and we have to figure out what license you should buy and what version of 1Password download. Even on OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion 1Password is so much better :)

Once we know that, we'll guide you though the whole process.

    Thanks in advance!

There is some confusion here as OS X 10.7 Lion and iOS are separate OSes, one for Mac and the other for mobile devices. Lion wasn't even available when iPhone 6 came out in 2014. It was out much earlier than that (it should be Yosemite, or OS X 10.10).

It would help if the original poster stated the 1Password version(s). Wasn't 1Password for Lion v3.8? Based on the year, 2014, iOS 8 came with iPhone 6 which means 1Password's Pro features are a free upgrade to date when upgrading from 1Password 5 (Purchased) to 6 on iOS 8 to 9.

    Hi @wkleem,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts here! Talking about multiple OS versions can get a bit confusing, but I’m sure we’ll get to the bottom of it eventually. :)

Sorry for all the confused questions to you...The reason I have not upgraded my laptops....one pro and one air, both are OSX10.7.5...I learned the lessons when I bought my mac pro, and migrated my older mac pro (which is too old, I practically not using it now) I lost ALL my Adobe softwares (I have licenses to them, they are older, I just could not afford to buy new ones) I had to purchase all of them all over again to be able to use in my then new mac pro.....second thing is I use iWeb to update my websites, Apple again they don't support it any more, building a website is a big job to start all over, I still do not know what to do about it yet. I also have the 1st version mini ipad (9.2.1) I use it often (much easier to put in a waist bag) and a larger iPad (9.3.2 ) which I use also, I have a desktop quick silver Mac I use it to do some other thing which I don't intend to upgrade it either, lots of other software runs on that one, including burning CD. 2 iphones, 5 and 6, both 9.3.2.

I will be getting a newer macbook pro sometime when I am ready but at the meantime, I would like to have the 1password to help me organized. And I am thinking of your one time license which might be helping me across to all these platforms ? as well as the newer Macbook pro which I will buy later.

    Hi @mitzilai,

As someone who uses Photoshop on a daily basis, I can certainly understand the cost of these licenses. The challenge with using older software and older operating systems is that you are often missing out on important security updates for the operating systems, and if some of your software (like browsers) do continue to update, you may start to notice that some of the older apps have trouble interacting smoothly with the newer software. (For example: the browser extension for 1Password 3 does not work in the latest versions of Firefox and Google Chrome.)

All that being said, it is your choice when to upgrade your system and we can still get 1Password working for you. Here’s what we’ll do:

    • Purchase a license for the desktop version of 1Password from the AgileBits Store. This will be a license for the most recent version of 1Password, but the license email that you receive will also include a license key for 1Password 3. You will use this to license the app, and, when you are ready to upgrade your operating system, you’ll also have a brand new license for 1Password 6 to use.
    • Download 1Password 3 from our downloads page.
    • You’ll want to set up 1Password on your Mac first - pick a strong and unique Master Password and start building your database.
    • In 1Password’s Preferences > General, select the option to store your 1Password.agilekeychain file in Dropbox.
    • Once your data is fully synced to Dropbox, you can download 1Password for iOS on your iPhone and iPad from the iOS App Store and point the app at your keychain in Dropbox.

Please let me know if you have any questions about this process!

Hi Megan, you are most helpful..........giving me a step by step. You guys got the AAA support for app. I do appreciate it. Yes, sometime the financial situation can not allow us to do certain thing all at one time and yet we want to be secured in our life. I think you guys had thought of every situation for every one. Thank you.
