Log In to Drop Box failed on Sync Set Up in iPhone to PC
I'm trying to set up syncing from my iPhone to my new pc using drop box. It fails after entering my Drop box password, stating Login failed. My email and password is correct. I can log into drop box on the web using those same credentials. I've tried removing drop box from my phone and trying again (as one of your posts suggests) but get the same result. As additional info, drop box is syncing files properly between my pc and phone. Any suggestions?

Hi @ringo_123,
I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble getting 1Password set up on your iPhone. Do you have the Dropbox app installed on your iPhone, or are you using the interface in 1Password to sign in to Dropbox and access your data?
When you reply, it would be helpful if you would include your version information for both 1Password and your operating systems, just to make sure that we’re all on the same page here and that you get the advice that’s best for your versions.

Megan,
Thanks for your quick reply. As I stated, I had drop box installed on my phone but removed it per a suggestion I read in another agilebits post when trying to resolve this issue. I have not re-installed the app to this point. The version of 1Password on my iPhone is 3.7.2 and 1.0.9.342 on my pc. Operating system on my iPhone is iOS 9.3.2 and Windows 7 Professional on my pc0 -
I should clarify. You asked if I had the Drop Box app installed on my phone or using the interface in 1Password to connect. If I'm understanding the question correctly I've tried both ways. I had the drop box app installed originally, then removed it per a suggestion in this forum. I got the same results either way when trying to set up Sync in 1Password. I get an error stating Log In Failed after entering the Drop Box password.

Thanks @ringo_123! This explains the problem you're running into:
The version of 1Password on my iPhone is 3.7.2
Unfortunately, due to changes Dropbox made to their API back in September 2013, it stopped working with 1Password 3 for iOS (as well as other apps which used the older API). Dropbox announced the change in mid-2013, but we had already removed 1Password 3 for iOS from the App Store in December 2012 (when we released 1Password 4 for iOS). We weren't able to add compatibility for Dropbox's newer API to 1Password 3 for iOS because apps removed from sale cannot be updated.
However, you mentioned your iPhone is running iOS 9, which means you can upgrade to 1Password 6 (currently the latest version - and compatible with Dropbox). Password 6 for iOS is a free download, and offers free basic features. (Optionally, you can choose to unlock the Pro features with an in-app purchase.) To upgrade and migrate your data from 1Password 3 to 1Password 6, just follow the steps here: Upgrade from 1Password 3 on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
I hope this helps, but please let us know if you have more questions or need any help with that. Cheers! :)

Thanks. I followed your advice and installed 1Password 6 on my iPhone. It installed successfully, imported data from the old version of 1Password from my phone and it added a folder and files to Drop box on my pc, but I still have Log In's in 1Password on my pc that were not added to 1Password on my phone. What could be causing that?

Hi @ringo_123,
I'm glad to hear the upgrade to 1Password 6 went smoothly! Getting Dropbox sync sorted out should hopefully be easy as well.
On your Windows PC, is 1Password currently syncing with Dropbox? From your previous messages, it sounded like it was, but if 1Password 6 for iOS didn't find an existing data file in your Dropbox account and created a new one, then it sounds like that might not be the case. To check that, please open & unlock 1Password on your Windows PC, click the Preferences button, and then click the General tab. Check the file name and path shown next to 1Password Vault - is the .agilekeychain stored in the Dropbox folder on the computer? If not, you should be able to move it there by clicking the Move to Dropbox button.
Once you move it to Dropbox (or confirm the location of the .agilekeychain in Dropbox), you'll need to change the sync setting on your iPhone:
- Open 1Password and go to Settings > Sync > Primary > Sync Service.
- Tap Disable Sync and confirm you want to disable it.
- In the sync settings, tap Start Syncing and choose Sync with Dropbox.
- When you see your Dropbox account name, tap on the name (do not tap on the 'i' icon).
- When asked to choose a vault, one of the options should be for the .agilekeychain that 1Password for Windows is using - select that vault.
- Enter your master password if prompted.
- Choose to merge data if prompted.
Please let us know how it goes, thanks!

I think you are on the right path but when I go to Preferences/General I see a file path next to "1Password Data". The file path is not pointing to a Drop Box folder. The "Move to Dropbox" button is grayed out and inoperable. I tried "Choose Another" and navigated to Dropbox/1Password.agilekeychain/data but get an error stating it is not a 1Password Data Folder.

Can you confirm that the Dropbox app is installed and running on your PC?
Try selecting one folder up from what you were trying. Instead of trying to use
Dropbox/1Password.agilekeychain/data
, try using:Dropbox/1Password.agilekeychain

I selected the folder Dropbox/1Password.agilekeychain as you suggested. I did not get an error, but it still doesn't appear to be syncing. I have 98 log in's on my pc and 53 on my phone.

Can you confirm that the Dropbox app is installed and running on your PC? If it is, we may need to dig deeper.
