Getting started no category screen appears

Just downloaded app. Set up password and logged in The screen appearing is not the one shown in your help instructions. I get the split screen only. How do I get to the screen enabling data entry for categories?

    Can you provide a link to the instructions you are trying to follow? I'm hoping to see an image of what you are expecting to see. :)

    If you are comfortable taking a screenshot and attaching it with your reply, that could really help us out as well. It would be nice to see what you are seeing.
