Want to erase my old computer myself instead of store where it will be a trade-in doing it for me. How do I protect my 1Password info. Have time machine backing up everything, all the time.

    Hi @JanetB,

Do you have a 1Password account or sync your 1Password data using Dropbox or iCloud? Time Machine should be keeping an accurate copy of all of the data on your computer, but if you’re not syncing your 1Password data to the cloud, you might want to consider saving a copy of your data to a USB drive just as an added layer of protection.

Here’s how to save a copy of your 1Password data to a USB drive:

    1. Open 1Password’s Preferences and go to the Sync tab
    2. Change the ‘none’ option to ‘Folder’
    3. A dialogue box will pop up and allow you to select a folder on your drive
    4. Make sure your USB drive is plugged in, and select that
    5. 1Password will store a copy of your data on the drive.

Now you have a spare copy of your 1Password data, just in case you need it. I hope this helps, but we’re here if you have any further questions or concerns!
