I have ewallet on iOS devices only but I can create an ewallet backup file on my iPad Pro. Is there a path to convert backup file data to 1Password data on my iPad? Of course I could purchase an ewallet version for my Macbook Pro, but I would like to avoid this.

    Hi @jpar,

At this time there is no way to import data from other applications directly into 1Password for iOS. Are you able to download a free trial of ewallet on your Mac to do the export?

Yes, the free trial allows for sync of iPad data to Macbook Pro ewallet and and also txt export of ewallet data. How do I then proceed to convert the text data to 1Password format and finally load into the iPad???

    Hi @jpar,

Please have a look at our import guide in our support section. This should help you get your data into a format that 1Password can read.

You will need the desktop version of 1Password in order to import the data. You can download a free 30-day trial here:

    Download 1Password

Once your data is in 1Password, you’ll be able to sync it to your iPad using Dropbox or iCloud

I don't believe 1Password's can handle the non-formatted eWallet export. It is not CSV, and has very loose definitions for record boundaries.

So I'll suggest using the ewallet converter in the converter suite. There are instructions in the README.pdf. Use the 1.09 version in Testing Bits, mentioned in the first thread of the post.

Once you've converted the data, you'll get a 1PIF file which you import into 1Password for OS X, and from there, you can sync as Megan mentions.

    Hi @MrC,

Thanks for chiming in here! My link above should have gone directly to the section of our guide that mentions the conversion tools, but I appreciate you adding a few more details. :)

    Megan and MrC,
Thank you both for the guidance through a particularly confusing conversion. Megan's comments were necessary to form the sequence of steps to access the eWallet text file and MrC's help with the conversion software as well as expert handholding was
formidable. I am on my way to cleaning up and organizing my data, thank you both. The 1Password software is a pure gem not only for its flexibility and satisfying statistical basis, but also for its ability to attract help from talents such as yours.
    Thanks again
