IPAD Browser open link on a new tab not working.
Hi,
On my iPad using 1Browser with Chrome as the User Agent, I open my Wordpress Dashboard to make some website changes. There is a link to a tip for a pluging that I want to review. The link does not open a new browser tab, it replaces my WP Dashboard. To get back to my WP Dashboard I need to loging to WP all over again (the browser back arrow does not work). PITA.
On my desktop I can use 1Password under Chrome and there is no problem. I also tested directly using Chrome on my iPAD by pasting in my login link and asking 1Password to provide the login and password. The issue does not occur. This is an awkward way to login because there is no 1Password Chrome plugin to use with my iPAD. However, it works.
The issue comes up on my iPAD within 1Password, using Chrome as the 1Browser User Agent. I have tested w/o a user agent also. So this is an issue with 1Browser.
Is there a way to make this work on my iPAD?
Regards,
Larry

Hi Larry ( @lwmcmahon ),
Thanks for bringing this to our attention! I can confirm that in 1Browser with the Chrome browser agent, links do open in the same window instead of a new tab. In general, 1Browser follows the browser agent’s preferences when determining whether to open a link in a new tab or the same window. I was unable to find a setting in the mobile Chrome app that has to do with this setting. I admit, I don’t use Chrome as my regular browser on iOS - am I missing a setting somewhere?
(the browser back arrow does not work).
I’m not able to reproduce this behaviour. When I tap on a new link, the back button becomes active as soon as the page is finished loading. In my testing it seemed to take a bit longer than I expected, but it did become available. Is your back button consistently unavailable?

Yes, it is consitent and repeatable for more than one site.
It is not a matter of being slow. There is no going back to the dashboard.

Hi @lwmcmahon,
Let’s take a closer look at your system to see if we can determine where things are getting tangled up.
I'd like to ask you to create a Diagnostics Report from your iOS device:
Sending Diagnostics Reports (iOS)
Attach the Diagnostics Report(s) to an email message addressed to support+forum@agilebits.com.
Please do not post your Diagnostics Report(s) in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report(s) in our inbox.
You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here so we can track down the report(s) and ensure that this issue is dealt with quickly. :)
Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks very much!

Hi @lwmcmahon,
We've received your Diagnostics Report - thanks for sending it in! I’ve updated the thread with some relevant bits from our conversation here to help the support team get up to speed on the issue.
I see that someone from our support team has already responded - please let us know if you do not see an email in your inbox. We'll keep the conversation going directly via email to avoid complicating things between here and there. :)

Hi @lwmcmahon,
Thanks for following up! You should see an email from our team shortly. As I mentioned, it will be easiest if we keep all the information in that email thread so that we don’t end up repeating ourselves or getting things muddled up. :)
