A typing area to remember secure passwords.
Probably irrelevant, but I thought I would ask about a holding are to practice typing to remember long complex passwords? Otherwise, I'll be attempting over the same login and failing. Plausible denialibility? I imagine someone threatening : "Hand me your password" XKCD comic

@wkleem: I'm not sure I understand completely what you're requesting. Do you mean like a practice area to type the Master Password securely? You can actually use the vault unlock screen for this since your data will not be erased due to incorrect attempts; it simply won't unlock. Let me know what you think!

Hi there Brenty, I'm sure wkleem was requesting a process whereby one can practice complex passwords on a regular basis.
If he/she wasn't... then I am.I have a number of long passwords that I regular type in that are not filled in automatically by 1Password.
It would be great to have a practice module that randomly picks a number of nominated passwords from a vault and delivers them in rapid fashion for repeated guessing. This repeated learning would make these passwords stick in one's memory.
Think of your login screen being used for this purpose with the name of the account to be guessed shown above the username and password field. There is a Chrome extension called 'Password Practice' that does this... sort of.
I would be wary of using a 3rd party app for this... but and module within 1Password would be perfect.
What do you think?
Cheers

To clarify, a process to practice typing in any 1Password password into a fake login screen – not just the Master Password.

@Ianski: Ah, thanks for clarifying. The Master Password field (or really any field within 1Password) works for this, since it uses SecureInput to block other apps from snooping...but the other part of your suggestion is a bit different: having 1Password prompt(?) you to enter the password for a randomly chosen account for practice purposes.
It's certainly something we can consider, but I do wonder about the efficacy of "password practice". It's something we'll have to look into. I'm not sure that I'm "average", but in my case, practicing typing things improves my muscle memory, but not my cognitive(?) memory. For example, I often automatically type things without thinking, just from repetition. Sometimes my fingers will type the absolute wrong thing (according to my brain). So while such a feature would make my fingers more efficient at entering those passwords, they would be typing the wrong ones frequently!
I think this may be because my memory seems to be more aural/visual, so I'd benefit more from practicing entering the passwords in the context in which I'd use them (i.e. the actual login prompt for the account). I wouldn't be surprised at all if others read my description here and think it sounds weird though. But it's a fascinating thing to think about, and a really interesting feature request. Perhaps it's something we can add in the future. :)
