    Hi @andypeters192,

Please have a look at the suggestions in our Recover your Master Password article. As the article states, your Master Password is the only way to access your 1Password database, so you will need to remember it or start fresh with 1Password - we have no way to recover it for you.

I hope the article helps you remember!

Thanks Megan. Does the password to the primary vault default to my master password then? I am able to log in to the 1Password app with my master password no problem but when I've tried the same password to sync via iCloud I'm told it's incorrect

    Hi @andypeters192,

Ah! Thanks for clarifying that. Your password to unlock 1Password should be the Master Password of your primary vault. It sounds to me like you might have some old data in iCloud (with a different Master Password.) The Master Password of that vault in iCloud will be required to access that data.

Let’s take a step back and get a better overview of your 1Password ecosystem. To better understand what’s happening and how to help you, please detail your 1Password setup:

    • What is the version number of 1Password that you have installed? (Please include all relevant computers and devices)

Our Knowledgebase will help you find your 1Password version information:
    https://support.1password.com/check-app-version/

    • What is the version number of your operating system (for all computers and devices)?
    • Are you able to access your current database on any of your devices?

The more information you can give us, the better and more quickly we’ll be able to assist you.

Ok ignore the system info I gave previously. I am running 1Password version 6.4.3 on iOS v 9.3.4 on both iPad Mini and iPhone6. I can unlock the app on both devices and access my stored log ins and secure notes etc and fill in credentials in browsers by accessing 1Password. The only problem I'm having is merging 1Password data via iCloud for my two devices.

    Hi @andypeters192,

Perfect. If all your data is up to date on your devices, then we can reset the data in iCloud and set up sync fresh.

First, it’s important to confirm that you are logged in with the same Apple ID on both of your devices. If you have multiple Apple IDs, and are signed in to each device with a different one, then obviously we’ll have a bit of trouble getting them connected. :)

Now, once that’s confirmed, you can go to 1Password’s Settings > Advanced and select the ‘Erase iCloud Data’. Then you’ll be able to sync the data in 1Password to iCloud on both your devices.

Let me know how that goes!

I've fixed it Megan. I erased iCloud data through 1Password and then started a fresh sync which worked without requiring me to enter my password again. Thanks for the help.

Whoo hoo! That’s awesome to hear. Thanks so much for letting me know.

I hope that 1Password behaves perfectly for you from now on, but if you have any other questions or concerns, we're here for you! :)
