A few month ago the screen of my iPhone broke and wasn't functioning anymore. Happily i managed to make the latest back-up of the broken iPhone (with iTunes) and install that back-up on my new iPhone.
All data came along except the data from 1password. I found out that the only way to back up the data from 1 password is using iCloud.
Unfortunally I didn't set up my old iPhone to Back-up with iCloud and that why I could not recover my 1passworddata. On my broken iPhone I found (with iTunes) a 1password datafile named: database.onepassword3 and could copy this file to my laptop. So i still have the data with my passwords, but i can't find a way to import it on my new iPhone or open it in a other way.
Does anybody have a solution for me? It must be possible, i think, because i still know the password that could unlock the 1password data. Thx Greezz Gert

  • Hi Greezz ( @Germart ),

Thanks for taking the time to write in! A database.onepassword3 file would be a 1Password 3 for iOS (a very old version) database file. If that is the version of 1Password you were most recently using we may be able to help you recover the data from that (I will have to do some research and see what is possible), but if you were using a later version of 1Password that file likely doesn't contain anything recent.

Could you please let me know which version of 1Password you were using on the previous iPhone?

    Thanks!

    Hello Ben,
I searched in old bills and found out that I bought in November 2009 1Password Pro, v2.2.1. In August 2013 I bought the 1Password v4.2.3 version. On my previous Iphone I was using the v 4.2.3 version. So then probably the file "database.onepassword 3" file is from the old v2.2.1 version and is empty. It’s a pity :-)
    Thx Greezz Gert

  • That would be my assumption as well -- if you were using a newer version of 1Password than v3 I don't suspect the v3 database will have anything of value in it. Were you able to find any other files? A onepassword.sqlite file perhaps?

    Ben
