Most recent update has app icon loading, App Store shows "Open"...can't open, can't delete.

The August 10 update did not complete, but the app's icon in the App Store indicates "Open", yet it is still residing in the pending updates. The 1Password icon on the main screen is grayed out with "Loading" indicated. Tapping that icon changes to "Pause", tap again shows Loading. Tried to delete and reinstall app, won't delete.

I really don't think this is a "ID10T" error issue.

Hope you can lend some insight.

@YooperKeith: It's definitely not you, but it's not 1Password either. Inexplicably I have this issue from time to time when updating apps, and there doesn't seem to be a reliable solution. It tends to just work itself out in time, like the App Store had to sleep one off or something.

One thing that could possibly help though is restarting the device. Leave it off for a few minutes, since it seems like something is cached sometimes. I notice a big difference if I power off and then immediate back on again. Maybe something similar to hibernation.

But often even that hasn't helped, and I'd leave it alone out of frustration, only to come back later and find my apps installed properly and able to launch. If it's any consolation, this was much worse a year ago. I love iOS 9, but this is one odd duck that I never encounter prior — though subsequent updates seem to have minimized it. The only other option is to contact Apple to see if they have a solution.

Brenty, thanks for taking the time to respond. What you described is exactly what happened. Even though it took two days "to sleep it off", last night I saw it in the Update Pending section, and it downloaded and came up as advertised. I did have a rubber mallet at the ready to encourage the iPad to get going.

    All's well...for now.

@YooperKeith: Awesome! Thanks for the update! I'm glad you didn't have to invoke The Will of the Mallet.
