    Thanks for taking the time to write in. I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you are having installing 1Password updates. Have you tried manually downloading the update from our website? If not you can do so here:

    I'm on El Capitan so should I download the one in the legacy section?

    Hi @bridgetrothwell,

    There’s no need to use a legacy version if you’re on El Capitan. El Capitan is the most recent version of the operating system and can handle the most recent version of 1Password. :)
