Touch ID - iPhone vs. iPad

I have 1Password on both my iPad and my iPhone. Touch ID works on the iPad in lieu of entering the Master Password whenever I need to use 1Password. However, on my iPhone, I have to enter my Master Password the FIRST time I use 1Password, then it'll let me use Touch ID for subsequent uses of 1Password during the same session. However, if I don't use 1Password for some time, it'll ask for the Master Password again. Is this how it is supposed to work? (i.e., there is a difference between the iPad and iPhone versions.) If not, where is the settings to change my iPhone to use Touch ID in lieu of the Master Password all the time?

  • Hi @nancyagee

Thanks for taking the time to write in. It isn't a bad idea to type your Master Password once in a while, so that you remember it. That said the setting you are looking for is in 1Password > Settings > Advanced > Security > Require Master Password.

    I hope that helps!

    Thank you! That's it!

Since I also use 1Password extensively on my Macs, there is no danger of forgetting my Master Password (until Apple adds Touch ID to their computers!) Of course, I will then add an entry in 1Password listing my Master Password ;)

  • Glad to hear that helped. :)
