Want avoid repeatedly entering password

I use 1Password to store my passwords. On the iPhone I have to get into 1Password by entering my password every time I want in. Is there a way to avoid that on the iPhone? Thanks in advance.

    Dear @genec123,

Thank you for reaching out! The safety of your passwords is a top-priority for us, that is why 1Password on your iPhone requires your Master Password every time you want to unlock your vault. It wouldn't be safe without it. This is what you can do:

    • Change Auto-Lock settings in Settings > Security > Autolock. This is the time, when 1Password locks itself, if being unused. I would not recommend it to set this option for a long time, though.

    • If your iPhone has Touch ID, you can switch it on: https://support.1password.com/touch-id/
I use it myself and it is really convenient. You don't have to enter your Master Password every time, you unlock it with your fingerprint. But sometimes you still need to enter your Master Password (again, security reasons): https://support.1password.com/touch-id/#get-help

I hope it helps and answers your question. :) However, if my answer is totally off the mark here, please let me know and elaborate on your question a little bit more. Thanks!

It seems that there is also an iOS bug. When I use 1pw (Touch ID) to look up a password then lock the phone, I'll then reopen it to the 1PW Touch ID screen but want to use another app. If you hit the home button instead of log in via Touch ID, it will sign you out so that you have to manually enter a password next time.

  • @malt66,

I've seen that myself as well. I'm not sure if that is intended, or if there is a way we can improve the experience, but I'll file a ticket with our development team to do some investigation.

    Thanks!
