How do subscriptions handle updates and upgrades?

Currently using 1Password 6.3.2 purchased via the Mac App Store. How does a Families subscription (purchased via agile bits instead) handle new updates or upgrades. Are they seamlessly applied, or do I have to apply them manually? How am I notified of updates?

    It doesn't matter whether you're using local vaults or a 1Password account, you'll be able to keep on updating through the Mac App Store as you always have :chuffed:
