Can't install Firefox extension
I'm trying to re-install the Firefox extension but I keep getting this error.
I've tried installing both the release and beta versions, both give me the same error.
Any idea on what is happening?

Hello @jwensley2,
Originally I believed this was down to anti-virus software but we've had a couple of reports of this where we simply haven't been able to pin down the precise cause. What seems to have worked in all of these cases though is manually downloading the extension from another browser such as Safari or Chrome. With the file downloaded it can be manually installed and everything works. Rather frustratingly we've so far been unable to replicate the connection failure issue in our own installing.
If you visit our 1Password Browser Extensions page in this other browser you should see a link titled Show all extensions. Click this and click on the somewhat misleading Install button for Firefox. This should result in the Firefox extension being downloaded to your download folder. Returning to Firefox, visit
about:addons
and switch to the Extensions tab. Here you can now drag and drop the downloaded file and you should find it successfully installs. Please do let us know if you run into any trouble but I believe this should get things running properly.

Thanks. I was able to right click and download the extension to my PC using Firefox and then drag it to the extension page.
Weird that it will let me do that, but not install the normal way.

Indeed, that is strange. I wonder if that somehow bypasses whatever was interfering with the connection. If you have any further trouble, definitely make sure Firefox is fully up to date and restart your computer. And of course we're here if you need anything else. Glad it working now! :)

Thank you, littlebobbytables. I was finally able to install the extension after trying all kinds of other steps, and getting caught in a loop with the error message jwensley2 posted above. It seems to be working now! Thanks again.

I wish we knew what was causing this. I'm constantly uninstalling and installing the extension but have yet to bump up against this issue. At least we have a workaround but we'd much rather it was a seamless operation for everybody.
