@haroldgoh: I'm sorry of the trouble! This is a the first I've heard of an issue like this with iOS 10, so I wonder if it's something specific to your setup. Is your device jailbroken? Unfortunately without some basic information it's hard to say what might be going wrong and how we might right it! Please tell me the OS, 1Password, and device versions you're using, the exact steps you're taking, and what is (or is not) happening the way you expect so we can figure out the best plan of action. The more information you can give, the better. Thanks in advance! :)

    Hi Brenty,
Thank you for replying. My device is not jailbroken. The version of iphone i am on is iphone6. Ios 10.0.2.

I have always selected to send report whenever it crashed.. it has been crashing since ios9.. but since i updated to ios 10a few days ago the crash is getting worse.. my steps are:

    • Unlock the pin to go 1password
    • Create a new note
    • Enter the title of the note (save it or not it does not matter)
    • Then try to enter texts longer than 10 chars and next thing that happens is the app would crash and the notification would ask me to send or not send the report..

Please help it has been nice to use 1password but i need an app that is stable and reliable.

Wheb i was on ios9.. the crash would only happen after i enter my notes and saved the notes.. it also asked me if i wanted to send the report to you..

I have always selected to send the report. .. but i have not heard anything yet about a fix or an email from ur company on any steps that i needed to take to fix it.

I hope this explanatiom helps to help u to help me out.. thanks. :)

@haroldgoh: Ah, that explains it! Thank you so much! Frankly, I'm surprised you were able to open it at all. A lot has changed with iOS since 1Password 3 was created. If I'm not mistaken, the was in the days before it was even called iOS! 1Password 3 hasn't been under active development for years and is no longer available in the App Store, so it won't be receiving updates.

However, the good news is that this isn't intractable. From your description, it sounds like you are able to run the app and get around, provided you don't repeat those same steps to make it crash. First, please backup your data. And then just follow this guide to migrate your data to 1Password 6, which fully supports modern versions of iOS. I think that will be a much better experience for you.

I hope this helps. Let me know how it turns out! :)

Wow! Many thanks for the steps and info.. i feel so much better now that i am able to use the correct version and that my data has been imported completely and successfully without any hassles.. from version 3..

Just a last question.. about my subscription.. since i oroginally purchased the pro version .. may i get thr latest pro version without paying. Second time? It was the tagline at that time for 1password pro that i only have to pay once..

Many thanks for tour patience and help.

@haroldgoh: Thanks so much for following up. I'm glad that helped!

Your purchase of 1Password 3 never expires, but is valid only for that version. So while you can continue using 1Password 3 without paying again, I'm afraid that the Pro Features in 1Password 6 are a separate purchase. You may find though that you don't need the Pro upgrade. The "freemium" version is fully functional, only missing features that weren't even possible back in 2008.

And unless you've recently signed up for the new 1Password.com subscription service, you won't have a subscription (or 1Password Account). This wasn't something we offered previously. However, you may also want to consider a 1Password subscription, since it will give you access to all of the apps and do away with license management and sync configuration altogether — you simply login to your account to authorize a device and access your data.

Let me know if you have any other questions! :)
