Is there a way to get 1Password Teams to work through the Extension?

Mind you, I have got zero items in my Teams account currently. I am looking for alternative ways of saving and filling in logins in the Teams account, If I don't want to or cannot export them first.

A case in mind would be if I have forgotten my master passwords.

@wkleem: Let me know which OS and browser versions you're using on that machine, and I bet we can come up with a solution. :)

    Hi

I am 95% on Windows 7 SP1 split between Chrome and Firefox 70/30. I rarely use IE for anything. Firefox has been troublesome lately and a memory hog compared to Chrome now.

The other 5% is for Mac iTunes backups with occasional Chrome/Firefox usage.

@wkleem: Great! Thanks for letting me know! While the new 1Password 6 Windows desktop app is not yet feature complete, it supports saving in filling in Chrome, Firefox, and several alternative browsers.

The best way to get started with 1Password Teams is to login to your account and go to Get the Apps. Here's a direct link to those settings:

    https://start.1password.com/apps

You just need to install the app and login to your account there. It uses the same browser extensions. However, if you're also using the previous version (1Password 4) on that computer, it may be difficult if you're trying to switch between them since they will both try to connect to the browser. In order to use one, you'll need to make sure the other is not running in the background. Let me know if you have any questions! :)

    Thanks, @brenty.

That does help except for me preferring 1Password 4! I already have 1Password 6 installed, just haven't run it yet.

@wkleem: Ah, got it. If you prefer 1Password 4, currently 1Password 6 has very few features 1Password 4 does not have. And you can always use the 1Password.com web interface for your 1Password Teams account. But you might want to give 1Password 6 a try. For some reason I feel like you might be the curious type. ;)

    Greetings @wkleem,

Just a quick heads up. If you have both 1Password 4 and 6 for Windows installed on the same PC you will need to use the Task Manager to kill the 1Password 4 helper process when you want to try 1Password 6 for Windows. Both are designed to work with the extension and if both are running they will fight for the attention of the extension. I find 1Password 4 consistently wins these battles and the only way to ensure 1Password 6 gets the chance is to ensure Agile1pAgent.exe isn't running at the time.

    @littlebobbytables,

Thanks. The 1Password 4 helper was hard to kill, so I stuck with 1Password 4. I've got 1Password 6.0.252d working now with the 1Password Extension 4.6.2b1 after using Task Manager to kill the process Agile1PAgent.exe.

    Greetings @wkleem,

You're not kidding, the 1Password 4 helper is one resilient swine. I suppose that's a good thing under other circumstances though  It does mean though that once you decide if you like what the 1Password account offers you'd probably want to go full throttle and with your Login items are in your 1Password account, uninstall 1Password 4 so the helper so you don't have to continually fight with it.

    Hi

I dislike the contextual menu for the 1Password Extension 4.6.2b1 with 1Password 6 for Windows running. It's oversized and All Vaults doesn't show just logins unlike 1Password 4 and the 1Password Extension.

I've had to scroll a lot when I encounter many logins.

@wkleem: Do you mean you'd like 1Password mini to be smaller in 1Password 6? I'll admit that sometimes I have the same feeling using my Surface, since it has a (relatively) small screen and therefore limited space. But some folks with huge monitors would like it to be larger still! We try to strike a balance, and we'll also continue to make the space 1Password mini does use even more useful. Can you tell me what you meant by this comment though?

You should be able to type in the search field to narrow the results. But I'm not sure what you mean regarding All Vaults, since 1Password 4 doesn't have that feature. Please let me know. Thanks so much for your feedback on this! :)

My apologies for being unclear! I killed the AgilePAgent process and ran 1Password 6 for Windows. The comments were meant for 1Password 6 Win. On a 1920 x 1080 screen, 1Password 6 screen items does seem rather large. Where the All Vaults references are coming from are from 1Password 6, it isn't meant for 1Password 4. whose look and feel I prefer.

I haven't tested/measured but with 1Password 4 out of the way, the performance of the web extension does feel faster.

Glad that seems to have helped, @wkleem. UI departures are often difficult and of course people have varying opinions. We heard from many users how much they wanted a modern, updated UI for the Windows app, and it seems to be going over quite well, but I certainly understand there will continue to be people that prefer the previous approach. Hopefully the increased speed and stability (and support for 1Password accounts) outweighs the shock of a new UI enough to give it time to grow on you. :)

@wkleem: Indeed. Thanks for letting us know! I agree: when I use 1Password 4 on my PC hooked up to the TV (1080p), it's pretty much the only app that's just the right size. 1Password 6 is still really young, so we'll continue to refine the user interface. I really appreciate you taking the time to share your preferences. :)

Is it possible for Teams to have multiple vaults like 1Password for Mac/Windows? I'm interested in splitting up my current primary vault but I never got around to do it for .AgileKeychain. At the same time, I want to do a clean up of unwanted items like the Agilebits Samples that got included in the Primary vault.

    Hi @wkleem,

It is indeed, in fact vault management is meant to be one of the areas where a 1Password hosted account (Teams, Families or for an individual) can make life easier. You create the new vaults via the web interface and they should be instantly available on any copy of 1Password signed into that account. In theory it should make moving items between vaults easier as they're all accessible without having to close one to open another as would be required in 1Password 4 for Windows. 1Password 6 for Windows currently allows selection of multiple items and then right clicking will offer the ability to copy items to a different vault. It has a quirk where it puts me back in the All Vaults view and jumping back to the vault I copied the items seemed to be the easiest way of selecting the items for deletion.
