One works the other does not
I have one login which will not open on my 2009 iMac (extension 4.6.1). The same login readily open on my 2013 MacBook Pro (extension 4.5.9). The other noticed difference is Homepage where the iMac shows "http://www.apple.com/startpage". The MacBook Pro shows "http://www.apple.com". Ideas please>

I'm going to move your post to our "Saving and Filling in Browsers" category so the right people will be able to see it, I hope you don't mind :chuffed:
Could you please tell us what is the OS version for each of your computers as well as of 1Password? Could you also please tell us what you mean by "will not open" ? Have you noticed if everything about syncing is working correctly for you?
I hope to hear back from you soon so we can get this sorted out :chuffed:

Both computers are using OS 10.12 and 1Password version 6.3.3 and now neither computer will connect with the desired site. When Extensions are chosen under Safari the iMac shows 4.6.1 and the MacBook Pro shows 4.5.9. This site was always accessible before on either computer. All other logins work well continually. Thank you for any help.

Hi @PatrickHenry,
For me that page doesn't have a login form. The main login page for Apple is at Manage your Apple ID. If you visit that page directly is that the form you normally fill in and if you visit it directly are you finding it still only works on the MacBook Pro running the 4.5.9 extension? I just want to make sure we're not misunderstanding anything while we try to help

Hi. Thanks for the always prompt reply. I seldom visit Manage your Apple ID and then usually only when the computer requires it. To use 1Passport I start with Safari and choose the 1Passpost selection I am attempting to connect with. The site in question is a company work site for a part-time job. The website is http://myacostaweb.acosta.com which (in the absence of 1Passport) I would reach by entering my acosta.acosta.com in Safari where I would be prompted to enter a User Name and Password which would take me to the home page of the site. Now the process stops when I enter the User Name & Password. The blue line which moves to the right in the Safari home page when addresses are entered proceeds a small bit, stops and the screen becomes grey. This also happens when attempting to enter via 1Password. In the Accounts found in Mail the Title is Pat's Acosta and is on Exchange. The Tech people at Acosta say the connection cannot be used on Apple gear and suggest I buy something containing Windows/IE. I am able to connect on a Samsung Android-run tablet which the company provided. I was able to use Apple, Safari and iMail for 2 years on both computers until a few days ago.To be clear, I cannot reach this site on either my iMac or MacBook Pro now. Thanks in advance for assistance.

Hi @PatrickHenry,
It sounds like we might be looking at a very different issue then, one where 1Password isn't a factor at all. I did try visiting the link you provided and it seems the site is using something typically referred to as basic authentication. The little window that pops up asking for your username and password isn't part of the page but is instead a small window popped up by the browser. 1Password cannot interact with it as it isn't a web page loaded in a tab so currently 1Password will never be able to fill here.
This is a separate issue to getting the page to load at all though. I'm disappointed to hear anybody is suggesting a website is only compatible with Windows and Internet Explorer in this day and age. The first thing to do is see how far this goes. Try downloading both Firefox and Chrome if you haven't already and completely ignoring extensions and bookmarks, just see if by using copy and paste you can log into the site and get it to correctly load the home page. If you can find a compatible browser then we can add the 1Password Browser Extension and you can use this browser for this site if it's not going to work in Safari and the people behind the site can't be bothered to ensure it works.

You were correct and we are almost finished with this problem. I consulter Apple Support and they found that the iMac had a few nefarious items among the apps. The iMac works well now with the site formerly hesitant obeying 1Password as it should. The MacBook Pro will be further addressed tomorrow as it refuses to stop downloading/installing Safari 10.12. I am confident that once that situation is under control, 1Password will work well. Due to the continual downloading/installing, 1 Password was only able to successfully connect sporadically. I will now address the company IT folks who must work at night selling PCs with IE. As always, thanks to the Support crew at 1Password for good advice.

Hi @PatrickHenry,
Hopefully everything resolves itself with a happy ending and if there was something amiss with your Mac I'm glad to hear Apple Support was able to assist. If you do run into any issues with 1Password please do let us know
