Failure to update to 6.3.4 in OSX El Capitan

I've seen others having a problem in Sierra, but I can't update from 6.3.3 in El Capitan. Tried both the updater (no error message, just a failure to update when relaunched) and a complete reinstall from the agile bits website (installation failed message).

1Password Version: 6.3.3
Extension Version: 4.6.1

    Hi @michaelh07

I'm sorry to hear that you're having some trouble updating 1Password. Could you please try dragging 1Password to the trash, then empty the trash and restart your computer. You can then download 1Password again and install it to see if it works?

Please let us know what you find out and if you're able to install 1Password again :chuffed:

I've have similar problem. But I can provide more information, which, however, can be specific for my situation. But I also encountered a similar issue with another product, making it altogether a bit alarming.

    1. I get a notification to update 1pwd and I click on Update..
    2. The updater starts and installs (so it says) the update
    3. But when 1pwd restarts it is still 6.3.3.

I looked in the syslog (using Console.app) and found a clue, though not useful to me, may be it is for you. This are the pertinent lines:

...but now I'm having to do the same thing again to install 6.3.5. I hope you can resolve this one for the future.

    Hi @michaelh07

Thank you for letting us know that this was not just a one time problem. I'm surprised to hear that it persisted even after installing a completely new version of 1Password. Next time that there's an update, if you happen to see the same problem could you please remember to send us a Diagnostics Report right after it happens? It would be very helpful for us to see what's going on in your system when this fails :chuffed:

    Sending Diagnostics Reports (Mac)

Attach the Diagnostics Report(s) to an email message addressed to support+forum@agilebits.com.

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report(s) in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report(s) in our inbox.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here so we can track down the report(s) and ensure that this issue is dealt with quickly. :)
