Can't type 'i' or '8' in 1 Password on iPad Air 2

When editing or making an entry in 1 Password on my iPad Air 2 if I type an 'i' or an '8' it won't accept it - simply ignores the entry, which is difficult!

Sorry, meant to ask the question as to whether there is a solution for this problem.

  • Hi @nph900

Thanks for taking the time to write in about this difficulty. I'm sorry to hear about the trouble. I just tried to reproduce this on my iPad Air 2 and have been unable to. Both i and 8 enter as expected, for me.

Are you using the on screen keyboard or an external physical keyboard?

If you are using the on screen keyboard are you using the default Apple supplied one, or a 3rd party one?

Also could you please let us know which version of 1Password you are using?

How to keep 1Password up to date

    Please let us know.

    Thanks!

    Ben

    Hi Ben
    Thanks for responding.
I'm using 1 password version 6.4.5. Keyboard is standard Apple on screen keyboard.
No problem with any other apps!
    Thanks
    Nick

  • Nick,

That is really quite strange... I'd like to ask you to create a Diagnostics Report from your iOS device:

    Sending Diagnostics Reports (iOS)

Attach the Diagnostics Report(s) to an email message addressed to support+forum@agilebits.com.

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report(s) in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report(s) in our inbox.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here so we can track down the report(s) and ensure that this issue is dealt with quickly. :)

Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks very much!

    Ben

    Hi Ben
I'm sorry I've not had time to sort those things out yet, however I have discovered that the problem only occurs when I am using 1 Password in split screen mode - i.e. When I have Safari open and slide 1Password out to get log in details, for example. I will get back with the info you require when I have a chance.
    Thanks for your input.

@nph900: Thanks for following up! This is only the second time I've heard of anything like this.

Since the onscreen keyboard is handled entirely by iOS there isn't really anything that 1Password can do about that sort of issue. But since it's a software keyboard, there's probably not a hardware problem at least.

Please send the diagnostics as Ben requested, but then backup your data and reinstall 1Password from the App Store. It may simply be damaged, so we'll see if that helps. Let me know how it turns out!
