Provide continuous encrypted offline export

As already suggested in https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/55363/missing-offline-export an offline backup solution would be nice. The current Web UI lacks of this feature. We have a team of mostly Web UI users due to the lack of Linux support.

If we move all our passwords to 1Password Team and do not perform a regular backup we might have run into the issue of not be able to gain access to our vital passwords in times of emergency like 1Password is offline or run out of business.
To prevent this circumstances I'd like to perform a continuous backup of all non private vaults in the Web UI. Due to the zero knowledge of Agilebits I guess it's not possible to do this in an automatic way?
It would be nice if you could provide a possibility to download the offline data as an encrypted dump. This avoids the need of downloading clear text data, encrypt it and shred the plain text data. The encryption could be done by providing an PGP public key (or multiple keys of multiple users http://laurent.bachelier.name/2013/03/gpg-encryption-to-multiple-recipients/) or an keybase.io account.

Do you have some updates about the status of the export possibility via Web UI?

  • Hey @dol,

Thanks for letting us know this is something you'd like to see! I can totally see how having some way to download the data on a Linux system would be super helpful.

While I can't make any promises on when or if something like this would be available, I'll pass your feedback on to our team!

In the meantime, if you do have some users using Mac or Windows, they would be able to export the unencrypted data for safekeeping - but make sure to keep them securely stored!
