Pro features restore - Failed to restore (original purchase with family account)
I had to restore iPhone and now 1Password wont restore the pro features.
Original purchase was made by Family Account ID, and I am part of that family.
It used to work. I have uninstalled the app, installed it again as my ID and still it will not work.
The vault is not synced with Windows vault yet.
iOS is latest and so is 1Password.

@vipson: Unfortunately Apple's Family Sharing feature does not include in-app purchases. So 1Password's Pro Features will only be available to the Apple ID used for the purchase. I hope this helps. Be sure to let me know if you have any other questions.

I don't recall that being the case. I have always been using it with family sharing since my purchase in 2014 (family license MAC/Windows/iOS). Am I missing something here?

@vipson: While it was believed at one time that Apple would allow Family Sharing for some in-app purchases, that has never been the case.
However, if you purchased 1Password for iOS version 4, this was a paid app without in-app purchases. But starting with version 5 1Password was a free download with the option to upgrade to the Pro version with the in-app purchase.
Definitely check your records. If you did purchase the full (v4) app and Family Sharing isn't working for you, Apple should be able to help you get that straightened out.

I did purchase v4.
I will follow up with Apple.0 -
@vipson: I think Ben may be on the right track. It wasn't clear to me from your description at first. To be clear, this isn't your fault; it's is really difficult to conceptualize the Family Sharing/Apple ID thing in many cases. Let me try to lay this out and see if it helps:
To setup Family Sharing, you have an Family Organizer. This is the Apple ID of the "main" account, to which all other Family Members are connected. The purchases of any members of the Family are shared with everyone else, but how this works is that you can go to the App Store (Updates >) Purchased tab, and then select a specific Family Member to view their purchase history and install one of their purchased apps.
Where the wrinkle comes in is that while 1Password 4 was a paid app which would be shared via Family Sharing, it would need to be installed from the Family Member who purchased it, through their purchase history (as described above). So if the Family Organizer was the one who'd originally purchased 1Password 4, it would need to be installed from their purchase history. If you install 1Password from another Family Member who only "purchased" the free version (5 or later), then this would explain why you're not getting the "full" app: it is associated with another Family Member's Apple ID.
It would be much easier if Apple simply let you install apps from the Family as a whole (rather than individual members' purchase history), so that you'd automatically get the "best" version...but I can appreciate that there's really know way for the App Store to determine this automatically. And since the whole system is built on individual Apple IDs, it probably isn't something that will change.
So, if you go to the purchase history of the Family Member who purchased 1Password 4 and install it from there, that should work for you. Thanks for your patience. Let me know how it turns out!

Hello,
Finally I talked to Apple.
As you stated this app was full app purchase, and because now it is in-app purchase I cannot restore purchases and Apple said they cannot do anything about it & App developer would have to allow me to install full app.As you suggested I can install the app using the family Apple ID (which originally purchased it), but now to update the app I have to use the same ID all the time.
Keeping all these in mind, could you provide access to full app to the family members for my purchase so that they can install it using their own IDs?

There has to be a way in app/in your system that tells Apple that these are the IDs that purchased the app as whole app and needs to be granted. Alternatively you can allow us to purchase the app again, but it gets identified as previously purchased.

@vipson: Unfortunately it doesn't work that way. 3rd party developers like AgileBits have neither access to App Store purchase information nor the ability to "grant access" to Apple IDs. So, to be clear, we're not making any statements about what you did or did not purchase. We simply don't have this information.
Just to make sure we're on the same page, if you purchased 1Password for iOS version 4 between 2012-11-20 and 2014-09-16, you'll have paid for the full "Pro" app. The Apple ID tied to this purchase can share it using Apple's Family Sharing feature. You can restore this purchase on a device by installing the app under an Apple ID with access to the purchase, and then use that same Apple ID to restore it.
However, if you purchased the 1Password for iOS Pro upgrade on 2014-09-17 or later, this is an in-app purchase and Apple does not allow those to be shared between Apple IDs. You can restore this purchase on a device only by installing the app under the correct Apple ID and using that same Apple ID to restore it.
That's all there is to it. We don't have access to the systems involved here. Only Apple does. And we can't change the way it works. I'm sorry I don't have better news for you.

Apple says, I am talking to them right now - senior advisor iTunes....in app purchases cannot be shared under family planning - means I cannot restore it using restore purchases. They are asking me to work with developer.
It is simple from my side - I purchased it on 29-JUL-2014.
I install it and click on settings > pro features > restore purchase > it does not restore...If I purchased using abc@m.com and if zyx@c.com is part of family account under abc@m.com and if my purchase was for version 4 between 20-NOV-2012 and 16-SEP-2014 why cannot I restore it under abc@m.com?
Apple says that apple has nothing to do with allowing restore of purchase, it is all developer's db that decides it.
How can I install the full app?
The only option other than restore purchase is purchase..0 -

If you purchased under abc@m.com you can restore under that Apple ID, but Family Sharing will not allow zyx@c.com to install the app unless that ID also made the purchase. You have to be logged into the App Store under the Apple ID that made the purchase in order to restore it. Family Sharing doesn't work.

It's sad but it is what it is..
Now I logged out of xyz@c.com under iTunes Store (under settings), logged in as abc@m.com and went to 1Password to restore purchase, it is still seeing the xyz@c.com instead of abc@m.com.
Do I need to uninstall the app, install it using abc@m.com ID and then restore purchases, then logout, log back in as ayz@c.com?

Yes, 1Password picks up on the Apple ID that was logged in when it was installed, so to change the Apple ID an uninstall/reinstall is necessary. I'd recommend backing up first:
1Password backups
Thanks! :)

Apple says that apple has nothing to do with allowing restore of purchase, it is all developer's db that decides it.
@vipson: We don't have a "db" with any information on App Store purchases. No 3rd party developers do. Only Apple has access to App Store purchase information. As I told you previously,
3rd party developers like AgileBits have neither access to App Store purchase information nor the ability to "grant access" to Apple IDs.
I don't know how to make it any clearer. And as I mentioned above,
You can restore this purchase on a device only by installing the app under the correct Apple ID and using that same Apple ID to restore it.
If it still isn't working once you've installed and restored using the correct Apple ID, unfortunately only Apple can possibly help you since it's the App Store that's validating the purchase, and Apple alone controls it. After all, that's all our "restore" button does: ask Apple's App Store if that Apple ID has access to the Pro upgrade.

I was able to restore the purchase (uninstall, use main apple ID to install, restore, re-instate other apple ID).
