Safari extension?

As Apple Keychain does, creating a new login, or updating an existing, Safari/Keychain recommends a PW. Very convenient, but can this function be builtin to the 1PW Extension to do the same? On Mac and iOS?

I'm not comfortable with having all PW's be formatted as Keychain does. But it is so easy. 1PW is more steps, not hard but…

I save and /or update to both Keychain and 1PW - but I do prefer the longer more complex 1PW generated pw's.

My guess is Apple doesn't allow third party apps this ability?

  • @justme12,

Not to the level of integration you're describing, no.

You can use the 1Password browser extension to generate passwords though. If you click the 1Password icon in the browser toolbar it will bring up the 1Password window, from there you can select Password Generator. With the Password generator visible, you can change the settings and then click the fill button when you're done and it will put that password into the web page's password field.
