Touch id only for 1password, not for activating iPad
Is it possible to use touch id only to open 1password? I don't want to use it for activating my iPad, but like the comfort of the touch id to open 1password so that i don't have to enter my huge 1password password every time....

@hyper: While Touch ID needs to be enabled at the system level in order for 1Password and other apps to use it, you can disable iOS Settings > Touch ID & Passcode > iPhone/iPad Unlock if you want. But keep in mind that, much like the Master Password in 1Password, using Touch ID to unlock your device allows you to use a stronger passcode since you don't have to enter it frequently. I hope this helps. Be sure to let me know if you have any other questions! :)

Hi Brenty,
Thanks for your reply.
when i disable touchid to unlock the ipad in the ipad settings, then in the security settings in 1password, it doesn't seem to be possible to activate touch id.
Which ever possiblility i try, i need to enter a numerical pincode or touch id to unlock the ipad. Only then 1password gives the option to use touch id. And that is not what i would like.
I would like to use 1password with touch id only, without having to use it or a pincode to unlock the ipad...0 -

@hyper: Right. You've disabled Touch ID completely. It will not function at all in either iOS or the app if ti's disabled.

Ah, I see. This is not possible. In order to use Touch ID in iOS, you must use a passcode. You can't have it both ways. 1Password doesn't have control over this behaviour, as it's managed solely by iOS, so you'll need to take that up with Apple...though I'll say that it would be a terrible idea to use any iOS device without a strong passcode under any circumstances. That's a big "steal me" sign, as it makes it easy to resell them. :unamused:
