Hi @rolandbutter,
Sorry for the trouble. Viewing attachments on iOS requires the 1Password for iOS Pro features. You can read more about those here:
Pro features in 1Password for iOS
I hope that helps. Should you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to ask.

I have a purchased version of 1Password Pro. Or at least if I haven't then I have a green box at the top of the Pro Features window on my iPhone which says Purchased. I click on it, nothing happens

Okay. Is 1Password definitely syncing data between the Mac and iOS? If you add a new item on one does it appear on the other?

It syncs. From my MacBook to both my iPhone and iPad. However, the pdf's are not synced. They don't even appear in either the iPhone or iPad so I can't open them - they're not there! It is certainly an issue with Secure Notes - no pdf's show up. Not sure if there's an issue in other categories, I don't think I have many/any pdf's outside of Secure Notes.
And I have Purchased Pro. I have a thank you message for doing so.0 -
I'd like to ask you to create some Diagnostics Reports, one from each of your devices:
Attach the Diagnostics Report(s) to an email message addressed to support+forum@agilebits.com.
With your email(s) please include:
- a link to this thread:
https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/73408/
- your forum handle:
rolandbutter
so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report(s) in our inbox.
You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here so we can track down the report(s) and ensure that this issue is dealt with quickly. :)
Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks very much!

Received the report from your Mac but nothing from iOS. Have you sent the iOS report?
Thanks.

Still don't have the iOS report @rolandbutter. Did you get a different support ID for that?

Sorry for the delay. I don't see how these devices could even possibly be syncing. Sync is not enabled on the Mac.
Please set up syncing:

Sync has been enabled on the Macbook since day one, as it has on both my iPad and iPhone. Both devices sync 1Password perfectly with my Macbook. What don't sync are pdf's. Which is where this thread started. FYI I use my LAN to sync. I do not use either Dropbox or iCloud for 1Password. The former is always full, and when the latter is turned on it creates more problems than it fixes when syncing with iTunes. And from what I can see it appears to be eminently hackable.
We've done a full 360˚ in 17 days. And I'm still none the wiser.0 -
According to your diagnostic report for your Mac WLAN syncing is off:
Wifi
Wifi Server Enabled? No
Can you please double check? Open 1Password > Preferences. Click the WLAN server icon. Make sure “Run a WLAN server from this Mac to sync with iOS and Android devices” is checked, and then please perform a sync, and send us fresh diagnostic reports if the issue persists.
Thanks.

I have no WLAN server icon. I have General/Security/Watchtower/Browser/Sync/Backup/Updates/Advanced icons. NO WLAN server icon. Not even within the Sync prefs, which only show iCloud/Dropbox/Folder icons. I am running V 4.4.3

@rolandbutter: I believe with 1Password 4 you need to open the Wi-Fi Sync server from the Window menu. You cannot sync if it isn't running. Try that and let me know if that helps.

I was actually aware of that, and that is how I initially set up syncing across all of my devices, using the 'secret'. Although there are no WLAN icons showing there (or anywhere else come to that). To reiterate, my devices sync, usually without any problem. What don't sync are pdf's.

My apologies @rolandbutter. It has been a while since 1Password 4 for Mac was widely used, and it seems I forgot that it was unable to sync attachments via WiFi. That ability wasn't introduced until v5:

Sorry to have lead you down a rabbit hole. Unfortunately you will not be able to sync attachments between Mac and iOS over WiFi without upgrading to at least 1Password 5.0.1 for Mac... and the latest version would be preferred as I also see in the release notes that we've fixed a number of bugs related to attachments since v5. You'd need to upgrade your OS in order to do so.

This is beginning to give me a headache. I purchased 1Password in Jan 2016. Emails tell me that I purchased V6. I have just downloaded V5 and V6. I tried to install V6. No joy. I tried to install V5 - I was advised that I need OS 10.10. Okay, I don't want to upgrade my OS so I tried to go back into 1Password V4 - locked out. I tried to reinstall the original V4.4.3. I downloaded my license. Or so I thought. I can't see either it or my user name.
So, after 3 weeks, I discover that I can't fully utilise the 1Password version I purchased a year ago, but worse, I can't get back into V4.
What happens next? If I'm being thick I apologise, but please, just give me the solution to at least getting back to the (unsatisfactory) situation I was in before I first raised a support ticket.0 -
As I mentioned unfortunately to use a newer version you'd need to upgrade your OS.
What difficulty are you currently having when you try to launch v4?

@rolandbutter: I'll add that it's only an "unfortunately" in that the upgrade will cost you an hour or so. It's risk free so long as you backup your data beforehand. Along with that, you get to use the latest and greatest 1Password and take advantage the latest features and security fixes in newer OS and browser versions. At the very least, any Mac that can run Mavericks can run El Capitan. You'd have to check the compatibility of yours with Sierra though, as there were some models which aren't eligible for that.

Thank you for that. I have a significant number of business related apps on my Mac which will not run on an upgraded OS. I would need to upgrade the apps. At a significant cost. All for no discernible benefit. Not your fault and not your problem, but it's all part of what we users see as a mega scam to relieve us of hard earned cash. Personally I'm not here to be milked, so I'll not bother with the upgrade until I can see a tangible benefit. I have a 20 year old BMW Tourer (fast becoming a classic). At no time does my local BMW dealership suggest that they cannot maintain it, or that I need to buy a new and expensive upgrade. Sometimes I wish I had stuck with my LCII and OS7!

@rolandbutter: Ah, I understand completely. I'm at least sorry that this also makes it more difficult for you to stay up to date and use the latest version of 1Password that you've already paid for though. Maybe the car will hit a sweet spot in the market and you can cash in! Perhaps in another half century or so computers will get to a similar point where the technology isn't moving so rapidly and our daily machines will be collectors items. :)

And maybe I will win the National Lottery. But I'm not holding my breath.
