Helllo,

how do I share passwords and logins within 1Password tresors? I have a few Logins in my private 1Password and want to put them into my work 1Password safe (two different 1Password Safes)

Kind regards,
Roland

  • Hi @rschmid,

Thanks for taking the time to write in.

Do you have access to both of these vaults (work and private) on the same device? If so open the item you'd like to move, scroll to the bottom of the item details view, select move & copy, and then select the desired action.

I hope that helps. Should you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to ask.

    Ben

    Hi @Ben

no I have them separat on two iPhone6S
Yesterday I shared my items using SMS and sent it to my work iPhone. But it isn't a very secure way to share items.

    Kind regards

@rschmid: This isn't possible since you're transmitting the data outside of 1Password. In order for it to be accessed initially, it needs to be decrypted; and then of course in order for it to be readable wherever you send it, it will need to be plaintext there as well. Sharing a vault allows it to remain encrypted when the data is sync'd. But, just like a physical vault or safe, as soon as you remove something so it can be sent elsewhere, without sending the safe itself, it's right out in the open. You can, however, use the share feature to send the data via a secure encrypted messaging service, but that's a bit beyond the scope of 1Password itself. I hope this helps!
