TouchID can be simplified

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the ease of using TouchID on my new MBP. But I think a step can be reduced. When 1PW opens, there are two icons that display: the fingerprint and the padlock. To use TouchID I have to click the fingerprint. Why not simply default TouchID? If I touch it, it'll unlock. If I prefer to enter the PW, I'll click the padlock. Or allow the user the preference option to do either: touch or enter the PW. Thanks for listening.
