What is your warranty that your service is as secure as you say? What happens if you get hacked?

    @Stwright: 1Password.com may be "hacked" someday. It certainly may be a target since we're a security company and it would be a fun challenge for a lot of people. In that spirit, we actually encourage people to try to find weaknesses, and reward them if they do.

    But more importantly, we've designed 1Password from the start so that even if someone breaks into our systems, they can't get your 1Password data (or ours). Indeed, when you use 1Password, AgileBits never has access to your data, regardless of the setup you choose. Even with 1Password.com, your data is encrypted on your device, so all the server ever ends up with is an encrypted blob. And since the Account Key is created locally, your Master Password is only known by you, and neither is ever transmitted, no one — including AgileBits — has the means to decrypt the data. So we simply don't have what an attacker would need to gain access to your vault.
