Pure Javascript (crossplatform) implementation of 1Password extension?

I'm stuck in the weird position of having recommended 1Password for our consulting group (which we chose), but I can't easily use it because I run linux (specifically Ubuntu). I recommended it because a good chunk of our team is non-technical and going through the web interface is easier than fielding questions everyday.

BUT... I'd really, really like a cross platform extension. It can be a read-only plugin that just inserts the passwords and if I want to edit anything I have to go through the web interface. That's fine. I just hate the copy paste routine for every website.

Thanks for your post @thesandbenders. A standalone extension is something we want to explore in the future, but I don't have a timeframe to share for when it might happen. One of the key considerations is how we can include our filling logic, which is in a library that is bundled with the native application for speed and resource considerations (especially on iOS). We've looked at a few options, but so far, nothing is particularly attractive on this front, and there are quite a few other items that we can have on our list that will be much easier to tackle and provide a lot of benefit to our users as well, so a standalone extension will need to wait a while.

So the answer is no (technically, not right now but effectively no). Thank you for an detailed response.

    Hey @thesandbenders ,

On behalf of @jxpx777 you're welcome and I'm afraid so :( hopefully we will have better news on this front in the future. Check back to our blog every now and then - we will certainly make noise about it there if something like this becomes reality.

    Best regards,
    Matthew
