Authorization
I've read the section on "1Password requires authorization," but I'm getting this message fairly often when using my main browser, Firefox. I do delete cookies frequently, but this demand doesn't seem to be associated with that event, necessarily. This time it was days later. Why do I need to authorize 1Password so often?

Hi @kagy,
Sorry it took us a bit longer than usual to get back to you! And I'm sorry you're having trouble with the browser extension. To make sure I understand, do you mean you're frequently prompted to confirm that a 6-digit code matches between your browser and a pop up window from 1Password?
If so, first please make sure your copy of Firefox is up to date (go to Firefox > About Firefox in the menu bar). The latest stable version is currently 51.0.1, so please make sure you have that installed.
If Firefox is already up to date, please reboot your Mac and see if Firefox gives you that prompt again. It sounds like it doesn't happen every time, so maybe give it a couple days (or however long it usually takes before it prompts you again).
If that doesn't help, is it possible you have the Mac App Store and AgileBits Store versions of 1Password installed at the same time on your Mac? Please check the Applications folder on your Mac, and see if it contains more than one 1Password app - if so, what are their names, and do they both have identical data?

Hello Drew,
As a matter of reference, I was just today asked again to authenticate my browser with that 6-digit code. Doing so is simple, but why must I do it so frequently?
So to address your questions: yes, you understand the problem correctly - that is, I must frequently input that 6-digit code.
My current version of Firefox is 50.1.0, so more current than the version you listed. I update it whenever it is called for.
I only have one version of 1Password in my applications folder. It is version 6.5.3. I'm pretty sure it comes from the Mac App Store. The only thing I can tell you is that I often delete cookies from this browser, but that doesn't seem to prompt the code, at least not immediately.

Thanks @kagy! I hope you don't mind, but I've moved this thread to our Saving and Filling in Browsers forum so more of our experts on the extension will see it and be able to help, if necessary.
You said your version of Firefox is currently 50, but the latest is 51. Can you please make sure to install the latest update?
Also, we just released an update for the 1Password extension, and it's possible that might help with this issue. In Firefox, please go to Tools > Add-Ons and click More next to the 1Password extension to see the version. The latest is 4.6.3 - if it hasn't updated yet, you can click the 'gear' icon at the top of that window and choose "Check for Updates" (once it installs any available extension updates, you may need to close & reopen the Add-ons window to verify that 4.6.3 is now installed).
Please let us know if the extension update makes a difference for you. Thanks! :)

Thank you Drew. You are correct about Firefox. I've updated to the latest version. 1Password extension was already the latest. Perhaps the Firefox update will help. Time will tell.
Thank you for an excellent product - one I couldn't live without! And for excellent support.

I'll keep my fingers crossed - hopefully you'll stop being asked to authenticate the browser extension! We'll take a further look into this if it continues to be a problem.
Thanks for the kind words - I'm so glad 1Password is such an essential & helpful tool for you! :)
