what a mess. I need help starting a second person on a 5 person license

I have long had a 5 person license. Finally I convinced my wife to use it. After a struggle I got her downloaded on OSX 10.12.3 and the license attached. But now trying to sign her up for the newsletter, you ask for an account Key. Used to show that on the License menu in Preferences, but now you don't. This has taken more than an hour over two days. Could it be more troubling? If you don't support these 5 person licenses anymore, and want people to use the Family license, then make it mandatory. Don't make using this app so difficult.

She will want to use the IOS app and the Extension also, what troubles lurk down that rat hole?

Sorry. that is a bit of a rant. My questions are where is the Account Key located? How do I get the IOS app set up with this 5 person license? And, how do I get the browser extensions?

  • Hi @terrynorbury - Sorry for the troubles and frustration in getting 1Password set up. I'm glad you reached out to us and I'll be happy to help. The Account Key pertains to our new 1Password Families account which is separate from the Family license you purchased from us in the past. Our iOS app doesn't require a license key. Open 1Password on your wife's iPhone, from the welcome screen, under "Used 1Password Before" choose iCloud or Dropbox depending on the sync source she is already using on here Mac.

If she doesn't have 1Password set up and this is the first time using it, choose "create a standalone vault" as shown in the screenshot below -

She can sign up for our newsletters here, just click the subscribe button on the right - https://blog.agilebits.com

All of our browser extensions are located here - https://agilebits.com/onepassword/extensions

If you are setting up the browser extension on iOS, follow the steps outlined here - https://support.1password.com/ios-extension/

We appreciate the support over the years. You have almost been with us since the beginning - 10 years!!! :-) Fantastic! Keep us posted if you have any additional questions and again my apologies for the confusion. Enjoy the rest of your day.
