Fingerprint touch quit working

Fingerprint touch stopped working. Security settings are on for the app. No touch icon (tab) appears below the space to manually enter the password. Fingerprint touch was working until several days ago.

    I wanted to see how to reset the touch feature. I read the article and touch works again. All I did was read the article. Bizarre!
