Hi, I am getting in touch with you because I have a problem with 1Password for iOS. Basically in the past I bought 1Password Pro for iOS, this is before you endend up in the store with a version free + InApp Purchases. I believe you simply updated the Pro version with the new InApp-Purcahese logic leaving Pro features to all people that bought the app because I didn't see any other app in the store and I continued to get upgrades for iOS 9 and iOS 10 now.

Unfortunately a couple of months ago I had to reset my iPhone and I could not restore a backup.

This means I had to download 1Password but now I am not able to use Pro features anymore unless I buy AGAIN the Pro version. I did it one and half year ago, why should I pay again? If I try to restore with any of the account I used in the past it fails because I did not use InApp Purchases to buy the licence but I bought a Pro version. Please can you let me know how can I restore the Pro version?

    Thanks

  • Hi @protonzero - Sorry for the troubles. As long as you're signed in using the same Apple ID you originally used to purchase the Pro features, you should be able to restore it via Settings > Pro features Restore. I will also include a helpful link below just in case -

Let us know if this helped or if you have any additional questions. :+1:

Hi @Frank, Unfortunately I doesn't work. I try to explain:
I use my iPhone with 2 iTunes Account and even if I switch account from iOS Settings, logging in into the second one, 1Password prompts always the first account when I tap on restore. I Fixed it deleting the app and downloading with the second account. restore did work. Thanks

Hi @protonzero - Sorry about that, now we're on the same page. :+1:

Apple had increased security over the last couple if iOS updates. What this means is, you can't just simply sign in under a different iTunes account on the phone, then go to restore the in-app purchase.

So the difficulty here is that the receipt Apple gives us is the one for the Apple ID that was logged in, when 1Password was installed. No amount of fiddling in the Settings app will change that, unfortunately. The only way to resolve is to back up, delete the app, login to the correct Apple ID, and then reinstall 1Password (then restore data from the backup if necessary).

It's not the best solution to the problem, but it's the only work around for someone that has changed their Apple ID. Sorry for the inconvenience and for not having an easier solution at the moment. Let us know if you have any additional questions.

I too am having the same problem, I recently bought a new iPad Air 2 and when installing my apps 1Password was one and when I went to restore purchases o activate Pro it's not working. Until now I have always had and use the PRO version since as long as I can remember i'v always had all the categories and I'' sure there is a way to look at some of my entries into my vault going back however long showing that it was entered with a categories.

I have always stood by 1Password buying and installing it for my MacOS as well, so I hope this issue can be resolved ASAP.
My email used with this site is the same email as my Apple Account (Used to buy 1Password), so that should be everything you need but if it's not please contact me to let me know if I need to provide anything else.

    Thank you,
    Craig C

    Hi Craig! @Mac3lite

Can you please back up your 1Password data:

    1Password backups

Then uninstall 1Password, make sure you're logged into the correct Apple ID on iOS, and then reinstall 1Password:

1Password 6 for iOS - iTunes App Store

Then you can restore your 1Password data, if needed (assuming you're not syncing), and the Pro features should be available assuming Apple recognizes your purchase on that Apple ID.

    Thanks!

    Ben
