my Touch ID login has disappeared and i can not log in anymore. how can it come up again?

in iOS

on all my iPhones the option to login with Touch ID has disappeared. as i don't remember exactly the master password which is several years old, i can not log in anymore.
is this a software issue?

    Hello @luc_muller,

    It's possible that your Touch ID security setting got disabled. Check out this article for getting Touch ID enabled again.

    If that doesn't work, maybe try @brenty's advice for further troubleshooting in this thread.

    Good afternoon @luc_muller. I'm terribly sorry for the trouble you've run into here. One additional bit that may help: Touch ID may still be available to you from the lock screen if you have the Touch ID button below the Master Password field:
