I can do it in the software, but can it be done for hardware?

Need to record make, model, purchase date, warranty, IP add, MAC add, Specs, etc.?

Thanks for asking about this. You can create custom fields in any item, so you can do something like this in a Secure Note (or other item type if you prefer):
