I use for years already 1 Password on my IPad and IPhone.
I have downloaded the version for the Mac now in Mac Store,
but the "go and fill" function does not work.
So my question I have to buy the version for the Mac so it works?

This is correct, the Mac App Store version requires either an In App Purchase subscription or In App Purchase of the standalone license in order to go and fill or edit items.
