I just went through the process of setting up 1password. I have correct username, Key, password, but I think I should have received a sign in link unique to me e.g. https://pat.1password.com. did I miss something in the setup?

Just downloaded 1Password and installed with correct passwords, keys and such. But when I try to enter the program to start setting up passwords saying to such that my credentials are not correct. I am thinking that the "MY" in the URL address should be something personal to me. I know I am entering the correct emal, user name, key an password. Did I miss something or what?

    Thanks
    Pat

Me again...What I am missing is a sign in address. I think I will abandon this account and start over.been at this 4 hours, it is 11P and have to upgrade this PC by 9A. I have my partner setting up an account at Dash Lane if this bombs out.

    @PatrickO - That's a good question! :)

Individual sign-in addresses are only available for Family accounts and Team accounts. Your account is on an Individual plan. For this type of account the sign-in address is always https://my.1password.com.

    I hope this helps! :)

P.S.: I merged the other thread you started into this one.

Thanks for the fast response Roman. It was late last night and sent this iniquiry about the wrong function. I can get into the account OK. It is when I try to install the software. The first entry is for a sign in address (your-account.1password.com. I went back and forth on this so many times last night that I have acually memorized the KEY <:)

See my response to Roman. It is the sign in address for installing the software. (your-account.1password.com) that I am having trouble with.

Ahhh ok @PatrickO I think we're on the same page now. Thank you for clarifying. You can access and install any of our apps by following the instructions below -

Log into your account - https://my.1Password.com > Click on your name in the upper right hand side > Select "get the apps" from the drop down menu > from here you can install any 1Password app for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android.

After installing 1Password, you then just have to fill in your sign-in address (https://my.1Password.com), email address associated to the account, Secret (Account) Key, and your Master Password. You can also scan the Account code listed on your Emergency Kit which will auto-fill in everything except for the Master Password - https://support.1password.com/emergency-kit/#use-your-emergency-kit

I hope this helps and let us know if you have any trouble logging into the account via the apps. :-)

Thanks Frank...you make it too simple...maybe I am getting too old for this business. I started building computers and writing software in 1978. I now have advance to building servers, publishing websites all kinds of high-tech conversions of movie film to digital movies and yet something like this challenges me. I probably should revert my younger ambition of retirement in the back room of an old General Store playing checkers and telling exaggerated stories. Again thanks

OK, I am installed and have enter a few log-ins, but there must be more to it than that. Is there a document with instructions available?

Hi @PatrickO - Oh no worries and you're doing great. As you know with all new technology it takes a little bit of time to adjust and get set up. Once everything has been set up with the apps, you'll be good to go. Again, it's why we're here. I'm more than happy to to assist you with any questions that come up along the way. I want to make sure you get the most out of using 1Password :-) There's nothing wrong with checkers and telling stories, I love to play!!! I'm not very good but that's a different story  Just remember, we're always happy to help out.

Hey Frank. I like your sense of humor and I agree with your comment. Anyway, you and Roman are tops on my good guy list today! Hopefully I will sort this all out and start inputting a hundred or so items. Had a serious hack last week and I won't let that happen again.

Thank you for the kind words, we really appreciate it. Sorry about the data breach you experienced and I'm glad you're giving 1Password a test drive :-) You came to the right place. Feel free to let us know if you have any additional questions as you continue to get set up with 1Password.

Watched the extension video and have attemped create a new password. The authors video was with a MAC computer and the menu is a bit different. However, I think I duplicated the procedure in PC format. When I try to open a site I have a choice of the original password.and the encrypted password. Both will go to the sign in page of Chase bank, but neither will paste the user name and passwork. Do you have any further reference sources

Hi @PatrickO - Sorry we have more videos on the way soon :-) Hmmm.... I will include a sample login item for Chase below which will give you a good reference point. There should only be the new password within the login item. You can see the password history but your new generated password should be the one remaining. I have a Chase account as well so I use it often, this should help and if not, let me know then we can move the conversation over to email -

Frank, I get that far and save, but when I go back to enter the site, it brings up the sign in page, but does not enter the username or password.

I have a new problem to fix first. I did my monthly run of Malwarebytes. It found 1,780 PUPs. I quarantined them and on reboot, my password was block by a missing something or other. I recloned the SSD drive with a February clone and all is fine. But 1password no longer recognized my computer. I tried to reload the program but got a message saying that user name is already in use. I don't want to mess with it today, but I am going to download Dashlane and see if its setup us a but more friendly. If not, I will see you again soon Frank....many thanks.

Hi @PatrickO - Sorry for the troubles with your computer. You could reset 1Password then just log back into the account using your login credentials. That should do the trick. We appreciate the feedback and I hope to chat with you again soon. :-)
