get a message "1Password failed to connect to 1Password mini"?

1Password won't open. Message says "1Password failed to connect to 1Password mini. Please quit 1Password and start it again" - but same happens each time?

    @jcrase: It's sounds like you may have multiple copies of 1Password hanging around, and macOS is launching the wrong copy of mini...or the app may simply be damaged and unable to launch. Either way, please do a Spotlight search to hunt down any copies of 1Password and drag them to the Trash. Next, restart your Mac. And finally, install a fresh copy of 1Password and you should be all set. If you purchased it from the Mac App Store, get it there; otherwise download it directly from us if you purchased through the AgileBits Store. Let me know how it turns out!
