Why doesn't my copy of 1Password automatically fill in the password as it used to?

I must have messed something up along the way. I thought it might be a problem with the browser extension but I get an error that it is unable to install when I try.

1Password Version: 6.6.2
Extension Version: 4.6.3
OS Version: 10.12.3
Sync Type: Dropbox

    I hope you don't mind, but I've moved your message to our Saving and Filling in Browsers forum. Sorry you're having some trouble! I'm sure we can help to figure it out.

    You said you get an error when you try to install the browser extension, but that's probably because the extension is already installed.

    Why doesn't my copy of 1Password automatically fill in the password as it used to?

    What steps do you normally take to have 1Password fill your data for you? For example, do you double-click on Login items from the main 1Password app, or do you select Login items from the 1Password browser extension, or do you use the ⌘\ keyboard shortcut in the browser? (Or something else?) What happens if you try those things now?
