Configuring 1password app on Mac with my account is not possible...

I have registered to 1password online (family account) and want to use the 1password app on Mac. After installing the app (from the 1password web site) and starting the app on the MacBook, I cannot add my account to the app. Using the iOS app on my iPhone is working properly. I would appreciate any help in setting up the 1password app for Mac.

Can you explain what you mean by "cannot add my account to the app" ?

I understood that the account information need to be maintained in the "Preferences" Tab "Accounts". There, the + button is greyed out and cannot be used. The text in the "Accounts" tab is explicitly explaining that adding an existing 1Password account to the App would be done through clicking on this button -- unfortunately this is impossible since the button is inactive. I attached a snapshot of the Preferences window, tab Accounts.

If you lock and unlock 1Password again does it enable the + button?
