The entire contents of my 1Password have gone. Where should they be?

Today suddenly 1Password is telling me that there is nothing in it. Many years of security access and ID data has disappeared! Where should it be? The 1Password4 folder is empty.

What does the missing file (database?) look like? What is the extension of the file (or filename) that is missing?

Dropbox backup also appears to be gone.

Any help gratefully received.

A.

1Password Version: 6.6.2

  • Hi @demonstrable,

I'm really sorry to hear that this happened. The first thing that you should look at is Preferences > Backups to see if any backups are listed there that you can recover from.

Did you look in the Trash to see if many another app trashed the Data folder from it? OnePassword.sqlite, OnePassword.sqlite-whm, OnePassword.sqlite-wal are the three files that make up the main database that backs the app.

I'm really at a loss for what could have caused this other than maybe another app on the system performing clean up.

    Rick
