Dr Cleaner Used on Mac

I recently used an app called Dr Cleaner to clean "junk files" but since then, my 1password has not worked, so I am assuming some important files may have been included in the clean. What can I do to get 1passback back up and running on my Mac?

    Hello @wdedmon

Thank you for getting in touch with us. I'm sorry to hear that you had some trouble using a cleaner app. They can very much mess with important files in your computer! Could you please give us some more details about how 1Password is not working for you? What kind of behavior do you notice, or what isn't it doing that it should? The more details you give us the better we'll be able to unscramble this up :chuffed:

I hope to hear back from you soon so we can get 1Password back on its feet for you!

    Hi Pilar -

I have tried reinstalling 1password, but now after reinstalling the program, it goes straight to the "locked screen" where I would typically type in my master password to login, only when I type my master password it doesn't work. My master password works fine on all other devices when logging into 1password. As I mentioned above, everything seems to have been working fine until I ran Dr Cleaner to clean up junk files on my computer.

  • @wdedmon Thanks for the details. It sounds like perhaps an older copy of your data was swapped with what was on your Mac before, and that had a different Master Password. Whatever the case is, did your Mac have any passwords that aren't on your other devices? If not, you can simply start over with the Mac app and sync your 1Password data from your other devices. If there were some items that aren't on your other devices, could you please create a Diagnostics Report from your Mac?

How to send a diagnostics report from your Mac

Attach the Diagnostics Reports to an email, and send it to support+forum@agilebits.com.

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum username so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a confirmation number. Please post that number here so we can track down the report and ensure that it is dealt with quickly. :)

Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks very much!
