Hi Drew.
I followed the instructions here: https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/78160/
but I keep having the issues.
A) Safari or Opera buttons in the browser don't do anything.
B) No autofill in 1password mini.
Newest version of 1password, extension, macOS, Safari and Opera. Tried uninstalling and installing per instruction above and no luck.
Thank you for your help.

Hi @filmforthought,
I hope you don't mind, but since the the steps from that post didn't solve the problem, I've split your message into a separate thread so we can focus on this issue.
Thanks for letting us know you tried the steps in that announcement post. If you haven't already done so, please try quitting and reopening Safari and Opera. And if that doesn't help, reboot your Mac. After it restarts, see if the extension works in Safari or Opera. Does it make any difference, or is it the same problem?
If the extension still isn't working, we'll need to know a few more specific details about your setup:
- What exact version of OS X / macOS are you running on your Mac?
- What exact version of the 1Password app is installed on your Mac?
- Are you using the AgileBits Store version or the Mac App Store version of 1Password?
- What exact version of Opera is currently installed?
- When you followed the steps in the announcement post about the extension issue, did that include reverting to version 4.6.3 of the extension in Safari?
- Does the 1Password extension button (in the toolbar of Safari and Opera) seem to be grayed out/unavailable? When you try clicking on it, do you see the button "depress" or is it completely unresponsive?
- Do you use any antivirus, firewall, proxy, or other security software on your Mac? Or other extensions in your browsers which might block certain connections?
Thanks in advance! :)

Hi Drew.
I didn't revert to 4.6.3 (not sure how I would do that through the App Store). otherwise I tried all the restarts and install in the book.
Safari Version 10.1 (12603.1.30.0.34)
Sierra 10.12.4 (16E195)1Password
Version 6.7 (670008)
Mac App StoreI do use a VPN (Vyper) but I used them in the past without any issues.
Button on Safari is not grayed out. I can press it but there is no reaction, but I do see it depress.
I was trying to send you a 1password trouble shooting report (I downloaded that tool from your site) but GENERATE REPORT is spinning for an hour now. Maybe that's telling you something?

Hi @filmforthought,
I didn't revert to 4.6.3 (not sure how I would do that through the App Store).
The 1Password browser extension isn't installed from the Mac App Store. You can find the steps to go back to the previous version of the extension in Safari here: 1Password Safari Extension 4.6.4 not working (It's the second set of steps under the "What to try" section.)
However, if the extension isn't working in Opera either, this problem is probably different from the one described in the above post, and might instead be related to this:
I do use a VPN (Vyper)...
Assuming that's the same as "VyprVPN", I found these steps from one of our developers in another thread, and I think they will help:
While I'm not a user of VyprVPN myself, another user on our forum found that the following solution worked for them:
1. Disable the whole "Per App" feature in VyprVPN altogether. You should be able to do this from your VyprVPN Preferences > Connection screen by unticking the "Per App" checkbox.
2. Adding an exception for the local network address which the 1Password browser extension uses to communicate with the 1Password app.In case it helps, you can find the full post here:
https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/comment/346161/#Comment_346161If the above steps solve the problem with the extension, there's a good chance it will solve the problem with the troubleshooting tool as well (although you won't need to generate a diagnostics report if the problem is solved). Please let us know how that goes, thanks! :)

Hi Drew,
So I switched off the VPN. Wouldn't that take care of it? Still nothing...

Boom. Turning off PER APP worked. THANK YOU!!!

Drew, is there another way to configure this? Turning off PER APP BASIS turned off the VPN for ALL APPS. Sure don't want to do that. Thank you!

Awesome, that's great news @filmforthought! Thank you for confirming that solves the problem and allows 1Password mini to connect to the browser extension.

I'm not familiar with VyprVPN so I don't know if a different configuration would also work or not. The reason we know about disabling the "Per App" setting is because another customer figured that out and told us about it a while ago (a couple other customers also confirmed that it worked for them). The name of that setting sounds like you can still enable it for all other apps except for 1Password, but if you need help with that, you might want to try contacting the developers of VyprVPN. If you learn something that might help other 1Password customers, we'd love to know about it! :)
