If I type my password incorrectly, how long is the lockout?

I recently installed 1Password on a new Android device. Rather than use the QR code, I tried typing in the secret by hand (thought it might have said the scan was unavailable). Tried logging in unsuccessfully a number of times. Then, I went back to my Mac and tried using 1Password and I couldn't open it. Now, I haven't changed the master password in a while and I was using it earlier today so I know I didn't just forget it. I figured there was a lockout mechanism and I wanted to figure out how long it was.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can still open 1Password on my phone via TouchID, but I'm scared to do anything for fear of this lockout.

  • Hi @savaki - Sorry for the login troubles. We never lock you out of your account. After 5 failed attempts, 1Password will close but you can open 1Password again to try and sign in using your Master Password. Let us know if you need any help or have any additional questions.
