Buggy behaviour when attaching a photo to a passport

When I try to attach a photo to a passport entry on my iPad, it allows me to select a photo but the entry shown in the passport entry said (deleted item) and has the IMG_6628.png underneath it. Once you are finished editing, however, it does not work - tapping it does not open the document.

When I then look in the Documents section, I can see the newly added image is there.

When I check on my MacBook, I can see that the passport and document entry have synced across successfully, and the passport entry does show a related file with the label of the filename and the text (deleted item). Mouse over this shows a hand cursor but clicking it does nothing. It is just as ineffective on all three platforms - visible but not clickable.

When I try to edit the password to "Link Existing Item" (on the MacBook), it does not list the Document, though it does list a lot of other things - though by no means does it show every item in the library - in fact, I'm not sure exactly what filter has been applied.

Attaching the photo on my iPhone doesn't work at all. Tapping the photo in the picker does not select it - it flashes grey briefly, but otherwise the picker waits for you to Cancel.

The work around is to attach the images from the MacOS application - they sync across and are accessible on both iPad and iPhone just fine, though you do need to explicitly download them the first time (which is understandable).

  • Hi @Jeff Laing

Thanks for taking the time to write in.

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble. I just did a sanity test and this appears to work as expected for me, so let's see if we can figure out what is different about your setup than mine.

I'd like to ask you to create some diagnostics reports, one from each of your devices:

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support+forum@agilebits.com.

    With your email please include:

    • A link to this thread: https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/78419
    • Your forum username: Jeff Laing

That way we can "connect the dots" when we see your diagnostics in our inbox.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number.  Please post that number here so we can track down the diagnostics and ensure that this issue is dealt with quickly. :)

Once we see the diagnostics we'll be able to better assist you. Thanks very much!

    Ben

I'm actually on holiday in Paris right now - yep, that's why I was worrying about passports - but I should be able to get this done soon

  • Okay. Thanks. :)

Sadly, on MacOs, I get this:

Unable to automatically create a Mail message. Please drag and drop the report icon into Mail and send it to support@agilebits.com.

Never mind, worked on the second attempt. May be a Little Flocker problem.

All three reports (MacOS, iPad, iPhone) all sent.

  • Thanks @Jeff Laing. I received the Mac report but neither iOS report. Could you please let me know what support ID you got back for those reports?
