Master Password with multiple accounts/vaults

I reset my master PW on my MacBook Pro lap top Safari web browser. I can login and out no problem using the new MPW from that interface. However, when setting up the app on my iPhone, I scan the QR code from the emergency kit, enter the new MPW, and get the dreaded "invalid login information." I've tried and re-tried to ensure no user-error. I've deleted and reinstalled the iOS app on my iPhone and still not letting me login. What is the fix? Much obliged.

Evidently, that new MPW does not open the app I downloaded to my lap tap either. To be clear, the new MPW does open my account on the web browser, but NOT on the iOS app or the Mac app downloaded to my lap top. Please help me out here.

@brenty: A new clue.... I uninstalled and reinstalled the app onto my lap top. The new MPW does not unlock the freshly downloaded app. But I can go to Preferences>Accounts and see a note below my name that says: "Your 1Password Account is in Trial Mode." Obviously, I paid the annual fee this morning, and have a working set of credentials and PW for use on the web browser. It seems to me that both the Mac app and the iOS app are not being updated from the account I set up on the web browser. The QR code correctly inputs all those credentials, so I don't see how this happens. Any ideas how do I get past this?

@blake_o: It sounds like you either have a local vault (Primary) setup in the app on some devices (which will not be associate with your 1Password.com account and will have its own Master Password to unlock the app), and/or you have multiple 1Password.com accounts. I see you've also emailed us separately, so I'll reply there shortly to get some more detailed information.

Seems unlikely that I'd have more than 1 account with identical login credentials. Not sure I understand the local vault option, how that would happen or even what it means, but I've responded to your email and will stick to that forum. Thanks again for taking it on.
