I have downloaded 1Password using the original AppleID, but it will not let me use the app

I have downloaded 1Password using my original AppleID on to a new MAC Book Pro, but it will not let me use the app in anything other than a read only text. I have deleted the app & reinstalled it. It was purchased through the App store, not from the Agilebits website. I have no email with a licensing number. No current articles have addressed this problem. Please advise.

1Password Version: eg 6.7
Extension Version: Not Provided
OS Version: eg OS Sierra 10.12.5
Sync Type: dropbox

    Did you download from the App Store using the same Apple ID as your original purchase?

    Yes, same AppleID as the original purchase.

    I had this issue with a friend. Go under your purchase in the Mac App Store and try downloading it from there.
