Why doesn't credit card autofill also fill out name and zip?

Tried creating custom fields matching the exact ones in the form and it didn't work. Any solutions?

Hi @JBallin,

1Password should fill out the name but it won't use custom fields I'm afraid. There should be a default field in the Credit Card item titled cardholder name at the top which 1Password will attempt to use. For now only filling with an Identity item will attempt to fill a zip code field. Does this help at all?

Hi @JBallin,

To understand why 1Password didn't fill the cardholder name we'll need to take a look at the page in question - see if we can spot anything that might explain it. While a page might look sensible to you or I under the surface the HTML could be a mess and offer 1Password no clues. I'm not saying that is definitely the case, just that HTML is crazy and can be twisted to make automation like this difficult. Over time though we improve 1Password and its ability to fill.

The ZIP is for historical reasons and some design decisions can come back and haunt you years later. When the data formats were designed the Credit Card item was constructed to only handle details specific to the physical card itself. The identity item was designed to store and allow filling of details such as name, postal address, date of birth etc. As these decisions are still evident in the data formats used in 1Password 6 the Credit Card item has no way to record a ZIP code in a way that 1Password will use it and attempt to fill. If you have a page like the one you've described you should find that if you fill with both a Credit Card item and an Identity item that the ZIP code field is filled. We still need to address why the cardholder name is not being filled though as that should be happening.

The site was movietickets.com.

I can try to fill both credit card and identity but I don't like how that's two steps. Could just store my CC info in my browser and it fills it all out for me (chrome/safari).

I can't make any promises as to how 1Password may work in the future but for now it will be two separate filling instructions if a single page requires payment details and the accompanying ZIP code. We will take a look at the page though to see why it wasn't filling the cardholder name.
