4.6.9: "Safari can't install this extension"
When trying to install the new 4.6.9 extension on Safari I get a dialog titled "Safari can't install this extension" with this message: An error occurred while installing the extension “1Password”.
This happens both with the primary download and the Amazon EC2 alternative. Both lead to a 120 KB file with SHA-1 hash a56b73c399bc8942923d3a6bc3936825ba503ab3
.
How can I get this new version installed?
1Password Version: 6.8 (680015)
Extension Version: 4.6.9
OS Version: macOS Sierra 10.12.6
Sync Type: 1password.com

@XIII: We typically see that because Safari isn't removing the previous version for some reason. Definitely see if you can remove it manually either from Safari Preferences > Extensions, or in
~/Library/Safari/Extensions/
using Finder. You should then be able to install the latest version. Let me know if that helps!0 -
Uninstalling the extension in the UI before installing the extension was already sufficient...
(I was hesitating to try that because of fear that I would have no 1Password integration at all if the 4.6.9 installation would still fail after uninstalling 4.6)

@XIII: Ah I hear you. Sorry about that. Yeah, typically it can be removed just fine in the UI, but sometimes Safari really gets itself into an odd state where it isn't showing there but is still hanging out in its support folder for some reason. Glad that helped! :)
P.S: If it helps, were we to ship a bad update, you could always install the previous version from our update site — at least for Safari: https://app-updates.agilebits.com/product_history/OPX4

Thanks. Also added that to my RSS feed for release notes (using feed43.com).
