Firefox: release 54
OS: Mac Sierra
1Password: 6.7.1
No Firewall

Steps taken (multiple times):
1. remove 1password extension from Firefox (icon disappears from browser).
2. Download and install update from Agilebits website for Firefox.
3.Restart Computer.

The icon reappears in the browser but is greyed out and will not open.

Any suggestions?
It works fine in my other browsers (Safari & Chrome).

Hi @shadowfax007, and welcome to the forum!

You mentioned 1Password 6.7.1 so you'll want to update to the latest version (currently 6.8), and also Firefox:

    1. Update Firefox to the latest version (currently 55.0).
    2. Quit all open web browsers.
    3. Update 1Password.
    4. Open and unlock 1Password.

Then test 1Password in Firefox and your other browsers to make sure it's working properly. Let us know if you're having any trouble after that and we'll be happy to help. Cheers!

Thank you - I hadn't realized Firefox was not updated!

Unfortunately, I'm still running into the same problem. The extensions work in Safari & Chrome on my Mac but not Firefox (they used to). The icon appears when I install it but it's grayed out and cannot be clicked.

When installing 1password 6.8 (full version from AgileBits website where I downloaded it before) It tries to install several times, then comes up with the following error:
Validation failed. The operation couldn't be completed (OSSStatus error -67688))

  • @shadowfax007,

are you running a version prior to 6.5.5 currently? If so you're going to have to manually install 6.8 from https://1password.com downloads. The in-app updater won't be able to update due to the way it was checking the code signature combined with the expiry of the old certificates.

I had similar issue with Firefox and 1Password 6.8.1 Beta 2. I was advised to use Firefox beta extension (4.9.9.2) that you can get when you go to Firefox extension page. That solved the issue for me.

    I'm running 1password 6.7.1
    I just reinstalled Firefox 55.0.1
    I just reinstalled 1password for Firefox (4.6.9)

Still the same problem - the icon is in my browser but it is greyed out...

    Oops, problem solved!

I downloaded and installed 1password 6.8 (I thought I already had) and now the Firefox extension works!

Thanks you for all your help!

  • @shadowfax007,
